NA 128 Product Property Standards Committee
The DIN Standards Committee on Product Properties (NSM) is in charge of the standardization of data structures for properties and classes as well as rules for creating, testing and clearing for use of standardized product properties and classes. These standards, which are based on international data models and standards, define the basic principles for the development and operation of the DIN Properties Dictionary (www.dinsml.net) and give guidance for operating the corresponding server. The standardization of product properties and property lists/application classes in the topic fields of building construction, means of measurement, assembly tools for screws and nuts, abrasive tools, gearing tools and tools and tool holders is also performed by NSM. The "AK PKM Produktklassifikation und Merkmale" (Expert Group on Product Classification and Properties) is the mirror committee of ISO/IEC/JWG 1 "Product properties and families", for which NSM holds the secretariat. ISO/IEC/JWG 1 develops recommendations for the standardization of product properties at the international level.
